Equitable Compensation
COMMISSION ON EQUITABLE COMPENSATION

(Clergy Concerns, Equitable Compensation, Moving Expenses and Pastoral Care and Counseling)

OVERVIEW

It is the purpose of the Commission on Equitable Compensation to support full-time clergy serving as pastors in the charges of the Annual Conference by:

a. Recommending Conference standards for clergy support.

b. Administering funds to be used in base compensation supplementation.

c. Providing counsel and advisory material on clergy support to District Superintendents, clergy and Committees on Pastor-Parish Relations.

In addition, it shall recommend to the Annual Conference estimates of the amounts needed for any other programs of clergy support the Conference may adopt, such as provision for the moving expenses of pastors and adequate funding of the Pastoral Care and Counseling Plan, a supplement to the Group Insurance Plan of the South Indiana Conference. It shall also be responsible for recommending policies and guidelines for these and other programs of clergy sup-port adopted by the Annual Conference. On a broader level the Commission shall explore issues of Equity across the Annual Conference as directed by the Annual Conference or as suggested by persons within the Conference.
